A few of the scripts I use on the network come with built-i feeds, which means that you can subscribe to a particular feed and get updates delivered directly in your inbox, bookmarks, or news reader without needing to check the site!
To put it simply, RSS is a way to deliver updates to you, the reader, in a simple and efficient manner. To learn more about RSS, I invite you to read WhatIsRSS.COM, or watch Common Craft's excellent informative video RSS in Plain English.
You don't necessarily need special software to read a feed.
If you are using Firefox as your browser, like over 60% of my visitors—and I believe some other browsers can do this as well—you can simply click the link of one of the feeds below, and subscribe to the feed using LiveBookmarks in the menu at the top of the page. The bookmark will automatically update itself when the feed will be updated.
Likewise, if you use Thunderbird, you can simply go into Account Settings, add a new RSS News & Blogs account, then follow the instructions from there. Once that is done, or if you already have such an account, it's simply a matter of going into Manage Subscriptions and adding the URL(s) of the feed(s) that piqued your interest to your subscriptions. It's very simple, and you will get my site's updates delivered right in your inbox!
If you use Google Reader, or any other news reader, you can add the feed link(s) to your reader using the usual procedure (I don't use readers so I'm not sure how; please refer to your reader's help files).
You can also get some of my feed on your Livejournal friendslist. To do so, if the feed is available on LJ, just friend the user associated with the feed.
The fanlistings also have feeds, but since I use the fanlisting script's auto-update instead of my other, verbose update script to keep track of member additions and edits, I didn't include the feeds in the list.
